She was preceded in death by her late husband and love of her life, Jared Fuchs, her step-mother Ruth Simms, father Wilson Howard Simms, mother Mary Alice Brocken Simms, sister Kay Clark, niece and nephew, Deneen and Gregory Clark, aunt and uncle, Marvin and George Brocken. She remained active, kept her sense of humor, forgiveness of others and a hopeful zest for life until the very end. Syndrome and was often referred to as the “Energizer Bunny” and “Miracle Mary”. She had tremendous courage and a desire to overcome the challenges of her autoimmune diagnosis, C.R.E.S.T. Mary always made sure Christmas was special. She was generous with her family and friends and enjoyed taking her grandchildren on shopping excursions. She had a feisty independent spirit which enabled her to raise two children, Brenda and Jamie, at a very young age essentially by herself. She loved gardening, reading, antiques, shopping, boating, fishing and spending time with her family. Mary had a wonderful gift for decorating and cooking. Mary was then lovingly raised in Montgomery County MD by Ruth Simms, Wilson Simms’ second wife. Mary’s biological mother passed away just 9 days after her birth. Mary was born in Washington DC on to Mary Alice Brocken Simms and Wilson Howard Simms. On Monday, June 7, 2021, Mary Alice Fitzpatrick, passed away at the age of 71.
